Yafa Sakkejha is a seasoned public speaker who has been presenting in front of large and difficult crowds for over 10,000 hours since 1995. Her experience is broad, spanning the university debate team, delivering results to shareholders, discussing challenging items with union members, pitching investors, or speaking out against violence at a peace conference between Palestinians and Israelis. These difficult rooms have trained Yafa to handle any crowd.
As a CEO pinched between billion dollar insurance companies and small businesses, Yafa is skilled at obtaining a tangible outcome between two competing parties. Yafa's collaborative negotiation abilities has produced several positive outcomes and cheques when it was seemingly impossible.
As part of Standing Together's Canadian friends chapter, Yafa has moderated several rooms of people who are not used to being in dialogue with each other, from a seemingly intractable, centuries-old conflict; these rooms end up with happy tears, hugs, exchanging phone numbers, and a promise to continue to build resilience among different communities.
As named a Top Executive in the Canadian Benefits & Insurance Industry, Yafa has had to motivate high performing, A-type team members to both deliver outstanding results, while managing employee wellbeing, avoiding burnout, and keeping the business on-side and compliant with employment laws and financial regulations. Yafa can speak to how she was able to motivate her team to grow their revenues substantially through black swan events and once-in-a-lifetime changes and disruptions.
Moderating voices from the left, center and right in the Palestinian community, all of whom are tired of living under violence from both within and from outside the community.
Yafa had the honour of co-emceeing the memorial event to honour the life of the late Canadian-Israeli peace activist, Vivian Silver.
