Yafa is a proud Canadian, living on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, Anishinabe, Wendat and Haudenoshone peoples, now Toronto, Ontario.
Yafa is a 5th generation entrepreneur, and a 2nd generation Canadian patriot. She learned from her ancestors how to build something of quality, helpful and beautiful, while steering through seemingly world ending headwinds. She has a strong stomach for risk, while holding respect for human beings at the same time.
She is grateful for Canada, who took in her parents when they had little other options for safety. She proudly does her part to give back to Canada and engages in civic duty to make our home better.
Insurance
Everyone deserves a livelihood that makes their heart sing. Yafa is currently the custodian of Beneplan, a customer-owned insurance co-operative. Every day, she helps make private healthcare more affordable and accessible for Canadians.
King Charles III Coronation medal
2025
In the spring of 2025, Yafa was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal for her outstanding commitment to community service and dedication to the well-being of others, by Minister Julie Dabrusin MP of Toronto-Danforth. Specifically, her work as a leader and organizer with the Toronto chapter of Standing Together, contributed to this recognition.
Standing Together
The Toronto Friends of Standing Together is one of many international support groups of the original group, 'Standing Together' located in Israel and Palestine. This group is equally co-lead by both Israeli Jews and Palestinian Citizens of Israel, working to mobilize the society to improve our shared home. There are tens of thousands of members of Standing Together and growing all the time. This 'purple movement' is one of the only areas of hope we have, since it is one of the only rapidly growing interfath groups both in the Holy Land and around the world.
The message is simple: There are 14 million people living on the land. None of them are going anywhere. All of them deserve safety, security, freedom, human rights, dignity, and an end to military methods to solve problems. They are against all forms of oppression, terrorism, and extremism that threatens the sanctity of human life.
Yafa has worked consistently to amplify the message of Standing Together since 2021.
